Easter Basket Ideas

I have been contemplating what to fill Anthony’s Easter basket up with this year. Last year we didn’t get him anything since there was no point and this year is hardly any better. You see, he is 18 months old - what does he really need out of life? Love and acceptance? Some cuddling? I don’t think I can fill a basket with that stuff. If I could I would be the richest gal around since it would fly off the shelves.

In an effort to not add to the overwhelming amount of stuff he already owns I’ve been on a hunt to only buy stuff I know he’ll love or strongly suspect he’ll love once he sees it. I’ll also be ridding my house of some of his unloved items for the new ones to replace. A constant battle in a parent’s world I’m noticing.

Here are some of my suggestions:

  • Books, especially the small board books
  • Play-doh (recipe here)
  • Pom-pom balloon balls
  • Bubbles and different bubble wands
  • Bubble lawnmower (ok so it’s a little big for a basket but I forgot to give it to him for Valentine’s Day and his birthday is ages away)
  • Crayons or markers
  • Slinky
  • Fruit snacks, fruit and/or candy
