Luvs Coupon & Target

Posted by cassie on Friday, 28 March, 2008 @ 5:15 am

Target has a price drop on Luvs diapers jumbo packs for $6.99 thru 3-31… with the $1.50 printable Target coupon that makes them only $5.49! Plus if you happen to have any manufacturer coupons, Target will combine them with the printable coupon. Unfortunately I do not but it is still a good price if you need some diapers!

Stretch Marks

Posted by cassie on Friday, 28 March, 2008 @ 4:41 am

I found another company that sells lotions and potions to assist us in our dilemma of itchy, dry, stretched out skin called Belli. I’ve placed an order for some repair cream to assist with any existing stretch marks and will let you gals know how it goes.

“Ease your mind with the knowledge that Belli helps promote safe pregnancies, guarding against ingredients linked to birth defects. Because that’s what Belli is all about: pampered protection.”

Can’t Sleep

Posted by cassie on Friday, 28 March, 2008 @ 4:38 am

So being 7 months pregnant is a b*tch. I’m up at 5:35a trying to be quiet so I’m typing in my blog because I can’t sleep. I tried! I really did. It was going fine until Nick came to bed about an hour ago and no matter how stealthy he tries to be - I hear him. I guess it’s mommy hearing for the win :( Needless to say today Anthony better be a wonderful little kid because a mommy short on sleep will snap quickly. I’m going to try to take a nap with him later and get some shut-eye if I can.

Since I have boo-coo time on the computer that I normally don’t get I’ll try to rustle up some deals, tips and other fun stuff for y’all to read when you get up at normal people time.

Upromise - Saving for College

Posted by cassie on Thursday, 27 March, 2008 @ 8:29 pm

I joined Upromise in 2002 to help towards saving for college for my niece and nephew. Along the way I’ve joined the support-your-school program and, of course, added Anthony. I can say honestly I’m not the best at using it because I forget to go through their shopping links on their site but I have saved a decent amount of $$ for the kids.

It is a passive way of savings, after you enter in your grocery savings cards and credit cards. It can even be hooked up to a 529 Savings plan (which I still haven’t wrapped my head around how those work..) and you can encourage your friends and family to add their grocery savings cards, etc on to your account as well. Certainly nothing to lose I’ve found so far, so check it out for yourself! Bonus they are giving you $10 if you sign up for an account before April 30th.

“Upromise is a one-stop college service provider that helps families earn, save and pay for higher education. With Upromise, families can automatically save money for college while making everyday purchases at grocery and drug stores, gas stations, restaurants, retail stores and online shopping sites. Upromise’s partners include Citi, ExxonMobil Corporation, McDonald’s, JCPenney.com, LandsEnd.com, Sears.com, and hundreds of others!”

Deal of the Day List

Posted by cassie on Wednesday, 26 March, 2008 @ 8:10 pm

I periodically check out the Deal of the Day master list and below are some good deals that I’ve found relating to kids.

  • makiMaki-Maki field bag would make a great gift for a dad-to-be and/or for Father’s Day for $24.95. It looks like a nice, hip bag with plenty of room for baby-gear or even Dad’s laptop.
100% cotton canvas; heavy enzyme-washed; cotton webbing straps; front flap with antique brass turn buckles; inside hanging zippered pocket. Bag measures 12″ x 16″ x 3.5″
  • cribrockerRock-A-Bye Crib Bases for $19.99. This sounds like a good idea for desperate parents wanting some shut-eye.
Wouldn’t it be great to soothe your baby to sleep by gently rocking the crib? Now parents can rock their baby to sleep right in the crib with the same soothing motion of a cradle or a car ride. Just attach the four bases to the bottom of the crib legs. They install easily, securely and are non-motorized. Motion is powered by mom or dad with a slight push on the crib rail. It’s that easy to turn your crib into a cradle.
  • trainMusical Crib Rail Train for $4.97. A definite must-have for all train lovers out there!
Entertain your little conductor for hours with this plush crib toy. Engineered to delight both sight and sound, this entertaining choo-choo goes into action by pressing the train “nose” to activate the sound of revving and honking. Train secures to the crib rail with two bottom flaps and Velcro. Made of polyester with plastic and measures 9 1/2″W x 8 1/2″H.

Happy deal hunting everyone!

6 Diaper Bags Found With High Lead Levels

Posted by cassie on Wednesday, 26 March, 2008 @ 7:40 pm

I’m still not understanding how lead got into diaper bags but then again I’m still trying to figure out how it gets into toys and why we aren’t doing anything about it other than reporting. Wake up America and start purchasing American-made or at least from countries that are more trustworthy.

The bags containing the high levels of lead were purchased at Kmart, WalMart and Babies R Us.

“…Three diaper bags with high lead levels in the changing pad were from Kmart, including a Disney Baby “Winnie the Pooh” bag, a Baby Got Bag leopard print bag, and a “Baby Necessities” brand bag. A fourth with lead in the changing pad was a “George” store-brand bag from WalMart. A “Red” brand bag from Mimi Maternity and a Carter’s “Out ‘N About” bag from Babies R Us had high lead levels in other parts of the bag.”
