Ramblings
I’m trying to cut corners where I can, like all people these days I suppose, and am really getting into the CVS concept. I like the thought of getting stuff I use (or can donate) for little to no cost with just some smart shopping involved. Since my *only* job is to be a SAHM (total tongue in cheek here *only* LOL) I figure I can contribute to my household by being a better shopper.
I try to use coupons and shop BJs when I can, and of course use the local grocery store sales for loss-leaders so this is the next step in my continued quest.
One of my main concerns? Where to store all the loot once it starts accruing. I’ve seen some of these people’s stashes (pics only from the web) and frankly a little scared! I don’t have stairs to store stuff under and no basement. Living in FL, I don’t think putting stuff in an un-airconditioned garage would make it last very long. And the builder that built our house was obviously a man since there is hardly any storage - minimal closets, etc.

Getting Ready for Baby,
Ramblings
I’ve been doing my CVS research as well as looking into stretch mark solutions and nursing-friendly diets. I want to be prepared!
Essentially I’m just biding my time to see if Vince decides to show up this weekend or not so my feet are up and I’m patiently (or as patiently as a very pregnant woman can be) waiting.

The cerclage was taken out today! I’m excited and just a wee bit scared so wish us luck. I asked the Dr and he said Anthony came 3 days after the cerclage was removed with him….

It’s been an on-going saga of what to name our second son. You see, we really liked Anthony and obviously used it for our first. A ton of names were tossed out and rejected and the only 2 that remained on the table for the entire name-picking duration were Carmine and Vincent. It was an equal split of 50-50 and nothing really worked at picking the name.
I tried my mom’s trick of yelling it outside at the top of my lungs - they both sounded good. Let’s face it we all know I’ll be yelling it a lot so it’s a good test. REALLY, just try it. I tried asking the baby what he thought and didn’t get any more responses in kicks, rolls or anything one way or the other so he didn’t seem to mind either name. I asked everyone I know and it was split so what was left to do? Nick hit on the brilliant idea of asking Anthony! So about two weeks ago we asked Anthony which name he wanted to use for his baby brother and he picked it! It was the cutest thing ever - he sat and considered it for like 2 seconds and then said *very clearly* Vince. Nick asked him a few more times just to make sure and each time he said Vince. So Vincent Christopher it will be! It is officially official, or will be once he is born and it’s on his birth certificate.

Sales, Coupons & Contests
About a month or so ago I decided we should remove the “grown-up” theme from the kid’s bath and decorate it accordingly! We went with the monkey/jungle theme and it is just cute as a button. Lots of loud tropical colors with adorable monkeys splashed everywhere. I even found in the Target $1 section (although they were more than $1) a rug to put by the sink and some wooden handles for the cabinets. I think it rounds it out nicely. Now the dilemma…we have a ton of towels from the various stages of bathroom decor we’ve had in the past 7 years. (Yes, I like to change my decor like some people change undies. lol) But nothing that really went with this bathroom or my newly remodeled master bath for that matter.
Now mind you, I wasn’t really looking for towels but who can pass up a deal…. In walks Brylane Home’s latest catalog and a 25% off coupon code to go with the already discounted towels in the catalog. A set of 12 towels/hand/wash clothes for $19.99 in the colors I need! Kiwi and Banana!! I couldn’t resist and had to order them. I’ll post a pic of the completed bathroom once these show so you can marvel at the cuteness factor too
Here are some other coupon codes I found if you are interested in purchasing anything home related.
25% off - BHFAVITEM
30% off - BHWEBDEAL
40% off - BHFORTY
Deferred billing until 8/08 - BHAUG
You can only use one of these coupon codes per transaction (plus deferred billing) so choose wisely. I’d go with the 40% off but that’s just me…

We had an enjoyable Mother’s Day at Nokomis beach yesterday and were even lucky enough to find a grill & picnic table! There were some sun burns and it was hot as blazes but we all had fun.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mommies out there!

And it was a smashing success other than being hotter than blazes out. Unfortunately our a/c had to be turned off because it couldn’t keep up with the constant opening and closing of the sliders
We didn’t have as large of a turn out as the RSVP list indicated so there was a ton of food left over. It’s so hard to prepare food for these things since you never can tell if everyone will show that says they will, etc.
We received many gifts of clothing and several gift cards. Thank you everyone for the wonderful presents for the baby!

Nick’s nephew and his girlfriend are expecting and are due in October. We just found out they are having a boy! No small feat for this family I tell you (tongue in cheek here people) since out of the grandkids there are only 4 girls out of 16 grandkids. LOL.
Mama and baby are both doing well. Congrats guys!

Ramblings
Well most of the work around the house has been accomplished and thankfully Nick is very forgiving when it comes to my nesting
Our new front door inserts (the ones with the blinds inside!) are installed and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. No more broken blinds because Anthony couldn’t resist playing with them and I don’t have to worry about him yanking them down either! The pool deck has been painted and sealed, the planters have been shored up with a new concrete wall, the back porch has been painted and my master bath is has a fresh coat of paint and resurfaced cabinets. Whoo-ee!
All conveniently in time for the baby party this Sunday
As for the party itself, I still need to clean off the tables and chairs on the back porch but that’ll be done Sunday since the cats can’t resist a clean surface. Most of the food was made in advance and frozen so it’ll just have to come out and be heated up. I can’t wait to see everyone and enjoy a good time. Cross your fingers that it doesn’t rain!

I haven’t posted recently but it isn’t because I’m not thinking of you! We’re hard at work over here getting ready for the baby shower this Sunday and dealing with Anthony hitting those terrible 2’s (yes, it is a little early since he’s only 20 months…). He is very inflexible recently and throws a temper tantrum immediately if he doesn’t get his way
I’ll write more soon!
