Then use the back-to-school time to stock up on great deals on crayons, markers, paints, etc! I’ve been combing the isles and have picked up some great deals on the Crayola twistable crayons (AWESOME!!!), washable markers, finger paints, etc. These are all going in the art box in the closet to be pulled out when his current batch doesn’t hold any luster anymore. We’ll just continue to rotate them around and they’ll always be exciting then
Also great for leaving at the in-laws, packing in their take-a-long box, etc.

We got my in-laws frequently and I’ve been battling an up-hill battle to leave some toys there for Anthony to play with when we go. I’ve succeeded in leaving behind a horsey that neighs when your press his ear (bought by them so they couldn’t refuse) and a teeny tiny bag of match box cars. It doesn’t entertain him for terribly long so I always wind up bringing toys along with me as well.
Well…now that Vince is here and we’re back to bringing everything and the kitchen sink along with us, (we bring a bouncy chair for him and a portable booster for Ant on top of everything else) I decided that carting toys along too was the last straw.
I hit the Target 75% off summer clearance sale last weekend and bought a bunch of different toys and an under the bed storage box. I filled it up with crayons, coloring books, various toys - both inside and outside ones and even an aquadoodle. We brought it over to his parents house and explained that it was toys for there and they could store it under the bed in the guest room and it would be good for when all the younger grandkids come over. You could tell they weren’t overly excited about it but they couldn’t resist since we covered all the bases. And now, there is one less thing for us to cart over there when we go
Thank god.

Kids CUUUUUTE backpacks and lunch bags! GREAT PRICES! They range in price from $13 - $25. My personal faves are: Construction Lunch Bag and Stephen Joseph Train Quilted Backpack. I may just have to get one of those lunch pails or when me and the boys are out and about. Browse through the site and see what you can find for yourself!

Wow it’s been a bit since I’ve posted but I bet you’ll forgive me
I hope. Life has been a bit out of control recently. Anthony has gotten a cold and has reverted to being ungodly clingy. I feel for my munchkin, I really do, but boy is it hard to deal with a clingy toddler and a newborn. Feeding one, while snuggling the other has brought motherhood to a whole new art form. So far (seriously knocking on wood) I’ve managed to avoid the cold although I do feel like I’m holding it off by a thread.
What do you do to make a (almost) 2 yr old feel better? I really don’t want to dope him up on drugs if I can avoid it and now he knows he can spit them out so I have no option in that.

Borders is currently offering a $5 off coupon (that can be used per item) and if you select shipping to the store it’s free! So ATM I have 27 items in my cart and am only paying $15 for it because I selected several books that were over $5 so I have to pay the difference. Boo hoo. It’s works on Music too so I picked up some new CDs for the kids. You could go wild with ordering a ton of stuff but I figure I should not be a complete jerk or I could get at least 500 items for nothing.
Great for birthday, Christmas and potty training shopping! Here’s an article explaining it better but I just HAD to share this awesome deal. So run girls!

Regent’s Secret is having a PPB sale starting 7.28.08! Woo-hoo!! While checking my email I learned about this sale from one of my yahoo bag boards. Gotta love those women, they are ON it!
It’s on www.regentssecret.com - it’s a members only site - you have to have a referral to join. There’s no weird catch or anything. Basically members get reward points for the people the refer. Anywho, it’s legit and they have Petunia Pickle Bottom bags on sale until 7.30.08. To join please use my referral info so I can get credit, which is funktea _ 420 @hotmail . com (no spaces).
Info about PPB from their site: “Born out of a desire to bring style and sophistication to the world of modern parenting, Petunia Pickle Bottom was founded in 2000 by a trio of people who pay homage to the chic mommy who makes a statement without saying a word. Plucking the name from childhood (the head designer’s father coined the phrase when she was a little one) Petunia Pickle Bottom has become more than a silly sentimental name, it has become the brand to have.
A perennial exhibit of bold lines, daring colors and darling designer details, Petunia Pickle Bottom was created for the steadfast sophisticate inside every woman. Silk brocades, hand-woven tweeds, plush chenilles, intricate cut velvets, and exquisitely detailed embroidery—every one a Petunia hallmark, and every one an expression of motherhood’s myriad facets.”

As of now the onesies under the footie pjs is still working. He is not sleeping as well still as he did before, but I’m not sure if this is more growing pains than anything since he is almost 2 and lots of things are changing. I’ll continue updating you as we go!
Here’s my previous posts on the subject: June: Mattress Covers and July #1: Cloth Diapers

I was browsing a bag site this morning for no other reason than they are having their annual Summer 20% off sale (use coupon code Summer2008) and well, I LOVE bags. I came across the Kelty Journey in the sales section and thought I’d pass the deal onto my readers. I’m not really big into carting the baby around on my back to go hiking or out and about - I’d rather use the AT stroller but I have several friends that do. They rave over their Keltys.
This one is on sale for $155.45 + free shipping. Check it out here.
