I’m still not understanding how lead got into diaper bags but then again I’m still trying to figure out how it gets into toys and why we aren’t doing anything about it other than reporting. Wake up America and start purchasing American-made or at least from countries that are more trustworthy.

The bags containing the high levels of lead were purchased at Kmart, WalMart and Babies R Us.

A “Red” brand bag from Mimi Maternity and a Carter’s “Out ‘N About” bag from Babies R Us had high lead levels in other parts of the bag.”

This post is from a super-swappin’ momma on one of the diaper bag boards I’m on. I haven’t been into TJ Maxx to verify they are in our area but it is worth a swing in if you like this type of bag. As a bonus these bags are made in the USA. See their website for more info.

I was just at our TJ Maxx at lunch and they’ve gotten in a bunch of new LeSportsac bags. I saw several small bags, the cargo camera bag and a Large Weekender (which I may go back and get…love my medium). In addition to their regular collection, I saw a bunch of the LeSportsac boutique bags from the Cityscape collection.

Just thought I’d give a heads up to anyone looking for a super-lightweight bag.

Skiphop seems to be moving out their saddle bags for the unbelievable price of $14.99 (normally $28)! Not sure if they are revamping the line, bringing in Spring colors or what the deal is but if you want one head on over! When they are gone – they are gone, while supplies last sort of thing… Shipping seems to be a flat rate of $8.60 UPS Ground.

I’m going to get 2 in Chocolate to try out on my red P&T Sport. I figure it’ll be handy when there are 2 riders.

I did a quick search but wasn’t able to find any working coupons to sweeten the pot any, but this is such a steal I’ll have to forgive the net for letting me down

Who would have thunk it…if you are carrying cloth diapers the needs are totally different than disposable diapers. I know, shame on me for assuming the bag needs would be the same. Several bags have popped up recently that would work wonderfully though and I had to share them with you! Remember you’ll need a wet (or ditty) bag and plenty of space since cloth takes up more room. A spare change of clothes may be necessary too.

One such bag suggested was the Sherpani Lena, which is conveniently on sale at eBags right now for $49.49. It is a messenger-style bag and comes in solid colors so Dad can carry it too!

Other bags discussed that Dads were willing to carry too are Timbuk2, which I must admit are really appealing, especially to the younger-hip crowd, and the Dadgear bags. It, of course, goes without saying that dad’s will like those! The Dadgear messenger bags average $82 and the Timbuk2 messenger bags start around $100. I did a quick search on Google and didn’t yield any coupons for y’all so those prices are it.

Ok, so normally I don’t really care for a lot of prints but I must admit it is soooo hard to resist these bags. I’m hoping another co-op deal can be had through the Yahoo group so I can get my hands on one of these. They also are now offering pouch slings (baby carriers) in addition to the bags and blankets of before. A couple patterns are exclusive to Nordstrom’s also. Say it with me girls – droool! I just found out that Petunia Pickle Bottom has a PPB outlet store and currently has a wonderful sale going on, which includes discontinued classics and certified seconds. I’m torn on which bag to go with since I now have #2 on the way so will be loaded down with lots of stuff. My favorite pattern is Raspberry Fields and it is sooo tempting to purchase both the Touring Tote and the Shoulder Bag.

Keep in mind the holidays are coming and we deserve something special too. Get it on the steals now girls! And bonus, we will be doing a world of good since profits from the sales go to the Leukemia Foundation.

I don’t even recall how I wound up on this website but several companies have joined together to create Wee Generation and is in the process of creating a cradle-to-cradle certified diaper bag. You can even help design it! I added my name to the wait list and can’t wait to see what it looks like and how much it will cost. The first release of the bag has been reported to be “towards the end of 2007″. Maybe it’ll be here in time for Christmas!
